Boreal Toad
Boreal Toad
The boreal toad lives in the Rocky Mountains between 7,0000 and 12,000 feet. These toads have been battling chytrid fungus and are suffering from a serious population decline. Boreal toads are listed as an endangered species in Colorado, and Colorado Parks and Wildlife have been having some success with reintroductions and reestablishing breeding sites.
This linocut is printed in black ink on Rives BFK printmaking paper. After the print is dry, I paint it with gouache, which is very similar to watercolor. Boreal Toad is an edition of 20 prints. The image is 9 x 9 inches and the paper is 13 x 13 inches.
